Johan Stokking is tech lead of The Things Network and CTO of The Things Industries. Johan started The Things Network in the summer of 2015, together with Wienke Giezeman. Within three years, the open network spread to 140 countries.
Apart from his work on The Things Network and The Things Industries, Johan is a member of the LoRa Alliance technical committee and works on the specifications of LoRaWAN peering and Firmware Updates Over The Air.
The Things Network is an open, decentralized LoRaWAN® network, run by its users. Within the 3 years of its existence, The Things Network grew out to a global network consisting of more than 7900 gateways used in 140 countries around the world.
The Things Industries is a LoRaWAN® service provider which offers private network servers and advanced features for large-scale sensor deployments.
